Jason Barton DC has been interested in body mechanics and human performance beginning back in his days as a high school athlete in Northwestern Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school, Dr. Jason enlisted in the US Army where he served in the 101st Airborne Division as a light infantry scout/sniper.
Following his enlistment in the US Army, Dr. Jason attended Frostburg State University in Western Maryland where he received his BS in Exercise Science. He was a 4 year member of the varsity football team and Kappa Zeta Chi Athletic Fraternity.
After school, Dr. Jason started his career as a personal fitness trainer in Washington, D.C. He held two elite training certifications, the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and the Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
His work as a personal fitness trainer gave him a rich experience that developed his interpersonal skills and his ability to observe body mechanics. Dr. Jason realized that most people's bodies were in poor alignment and were highly unstable. No matter what exercises Dr. Jason did with his clients to improve alignment and function he was never happy with the results. This problem motivated Dr. Jason to change careers and led him to attend New York Chiropractic College where he graduated Cum Laude and was a member of the Phi Chi Omega honor society.
Dr. Jason's quest to find the very best techniques for improving posture and body mechanics has led him to practice Advanced Biostructural Correction. He continues to be blown away by the transformations peoples bodies go through while under ABC care. He is proud to make ABC chiropractic his life's work and to bring this amazing health care to the wonderful people of Ithaca and the surrounding area.
In his free time Dr. Jason enjoys hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities with his wife Christina and their two young children Christian and Jack.
